He's So Fine

The Chiffons
Written by Ronald Mack in 1961

He's So Fine, by the chiffons, was on the Billboard Top 100 Charts twice during 1962, becoming a number one smash the second
time around. They re-recorded it in the late 1970s with a faster tempo and more bass.

The original version was actually produced by The Tokens (of The Lion Sleeps Tonight fame) in 1961 and featured Carol King
on piano. Ironically in 1962 The Tokens, who had become record producers by then, produced the song by the Chiffons which became
so popular. In 1976 George Harrison was ordered to pay $587,000 to Bright Tunes Music (copyright owners) after a judge
found him guilty of "subconscious" plagiarism of the song in his 1971 hit, "My Sweet Lord.". The Chiffons would later record
"My Sweet Lord" to capitalize on the publicity generated by the lawsuit.

He's So Fine also made the pop charts in cover versions by country singer Jody Miller in 1971 and Jane Olivor in 1979.
